I'm overwhelmingly inspired by Johannesburg based artist Mary Sibande. Her 'Long Live the Dead Queen' series seems to have so many layers from telling tales of servitude during days of apartheid in South Africa to the amazing costumes she makes for the fictional character 'Sophie'. I must admit the gorgeous blues from 'Sophie's' dresses is what initially caught my eye but it tells an important story (and the sculpture is pretty amazing).
