Tatiana Blass

I love this installation by Brazilian artist Tatiana Bass. "Penelope" touches on the "ambiguous movement of construction and de construction" unable to tell whether the threads start as a tangled mess outside of the church or inside as a 14' long carpet extending down the aisle into a loom. Apparently an ode to the Greek myth of Penelope. I'd love to see this in person!

Part Time Studios Shop

I participated in a show earlier this month in Philadelphia at Part Time Studios called 'By the Yard'. The show consisted of 25 female artists creating fabrics, trims, and anything else that could be sold by the yard. You can now shop some of the goods from the show...I'm loving the floral trim by Emily Isabella.

Studio Day

A textile lovers dream! Hadley Holliday's new work evokes a feeling of indigo and tie dye but with acrylic paint in a variety of blues on raw canvas. I'd die for this on my walls! (discovered from the fabulous Simple Lovely)

Caitlin Foster

I love these rock drawings from Caitlin Foster. I've been incredibly inspired by topography and patterns from the natural world as of late and these go perfectly; organic but graphic!

Mary Button Durell

I discovered Mary Button Durell's work on Honestly WTF and was blown away! Her whimsical, paper sculptures resemble sea anemone, especially with the pop of neon color. She uses tracing paper, wheat paste, and acrylic or acetate paints to create these incredible organic "cells". Read more about the San Francisco artist's work here.

Boa Mistura/South Africa

I'm so inspired by this project and the 'street art for a cause' movement. Boa Mistura, is a group of five Spanish artists who are participating in an artist residency in Cape Town and social art projects in Khayelitsha, a Cape Town township. They're focusing on a mural for a cycling school in Khayelitsha, called Velokhaya. Amazing. Beautiful. You can follow their project on their blog. (discovered via size too small)

Zapatos

I went down the rabbit hole of blogs this morning and discovered the most amazing embroidered shoes by Argentinian Rita Smirna for Chicco Ruiz. I'm not sure they're even available anymore as summer is coming to a close in Argentina but they were too great not to post!
