The Waterhouse at South Bund

The Waterhouse at South Bund is an amazing boutique hotel in Shanghai. Designed by Chinese architecture firm NHDRO, the 19 room hotel was built into an existing building used as Japanese army headquarters in the 1930's. I love the combination of wood and concrete...really beautiful. (via Dezeen)

  1. Wood and concrete and you're pretty much speaking my language; such a beautiful combination truly. Because of Frank Lloyd Wright I actually first started paying attention to how interesting concrete could be if it was actually thought about a little bit.

Here is an older photo I did where the concrete actually looked like wood in the shot http://systemaddikt.deviantart.com/art/the-exit-807991
