Rubina

I'm thrilled about the launch of Rubina!  I virtually met founder, Kari, through a mutual friend several years ago and since then we have commiserated on indigenous crafts, travel, sustainable design, and collaborating with artisans in the developing world.

"In 2011, she started Rubina by making annual trips to India to partner with artisans and designers all working towards the same goal: making beautiful products while incorporating women with a high level of skill and tradition into the process to create better livelihoods".

 The result is a new online resource and shop offering handmade accessories stemming from designer/artisan collaborations around the world.  Their first partners are designers, Nor Black Nor White and artisans, The Khatri Family.  Rubina does  a wonderful job of connecting the consumer/reader to the artisans and their magazine goes into more depth about the culture and techniques used by the artisan groups.
