I absolutely love these jute and leather toys by Renate Muller. I first read about them in the
New York Times Magazine, where they showed the Elephant sold at
Partners & Spade in NYC for a pretty penny...$1800. The toys were originally created in the 1960's as tools to help mentally and physically ill children. In the 90's Muller retrieved the rights to the toys and is now handmaking them in limited quantities. (photos via top,
